How to Replace an audi key blade G28 Engine Speed Sensor

1. Engine Speed Sensor

The sensor is used as a reference to correlate with the G40 Camshaft Position Sensor. The ecu needs to be aware of when the crankshaft has reached TDC and also where the camshaft lies to trigger the spark and injectors.
If this sensor fails the ECU will throw an error code P00160 which indicates that the Crank Shaft and Intake Camshaft aren't in sync, possibly indicating the chain stretching or a jump link on the upper timing chain. The code will not appear without the additional information provided by other sensors (G4 or G40).
Testing is a bit challenging as there are two different connector pins, and they perform different functions but the best method of testing it is to measure the resistance between the sensor and the ECU. It should read approximately 1000 ohms when the sensor is in full operation. Examine for signs of coolant, or oil in the connector bay if you have problems with this part.
2. Injectors
Yesterday, when accelerating from highway paytoll at maximum speed I noticed a significant reduction in power. It was like the engine was running out of gas. Or my injectors were not firing. I pulled out the spark plugs this morning and found that 3 were soaked in gasoline, and the fourth was unclean. When i crank the engine without sparks, I put a piece of tissue on the top of each hole in the injector, the 3 drenched with gazoline jump out but the 4th one stays shut. I tried to test the ground connections of ECU pins 14,30 and 48/55. I got zero ohm. Therefore, i think the issue is in another place.
I also tried to reset the PID without success. The car will start when the G28 is unplugged, and it works fine when the G28 connected. However the intermittent misfire issue continues to occur at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62) even when it is unplugged, shows temperatures of -49c. Also i noticed that the oil pressure gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bar while the actual pressure is 0.0 when I crank up the engine.
I'm not sure what to do. I believe that I've ruled everything else out. I'm worried that i might have missed something. Please let me know should you have any suggestions! TIA!
3. Fuel Pump
The fuel pump in the g28 receives a signal from the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter is similar to the G4 sender and works on the 80,100,200, UrS, and RS2 vehicles. It is easy to find a spare audi key in a wrecking shop or a parts store. It is easy to test them - simply put your DMM into resistance mode and measure the distance between pins 1 and 2 (with the bump at the connector end facing up). They should be infinite ohms.

The good news is that they are very cheap and easy to find particularly if you're looking at the Bosch sensor, like ours. Alternately, the GM version of this unit is also a good option.
5. Tachometer
A malfunctioning engine speed sensor could be a cause for many problems in your car.
