How to Replace an audi a1 car key Q5 Key - Scrapbookmarket.Com, G28 Engine Speed Sensor

Charles the Humble Technician teaches you how to replace audi key the G28 Engine Speed Sensor. The sensor is located on the outside of the transmission just above the flywheel gear. It sends a signal to the ECU via the grey wire (T55/49) and then to the tachometer in the instrument cluster.

1. Engine Speed Sensor

It is located on the outside of the transmission just above the flywheel ring gear G28 Engine Speed Sensor sends an electrical signal to ECU pin T55/49 using the grey wire. The ECU utilizes this information to regulate fuel and boost. It also sends an alert to the G5 Tachometer in instrument cluster.

The sensor serves as a reference for comparing with the G40 Camshaft Position Sensor. The ecu needs to be aware of when the crankshaft has reached TDC, and the position of the camshaft, so that it can activate the spark and injectors.

If this sensor fails, the ECU will display a P00160 error code. This indicates that the Crank Shaft is not in sync with the Intake Camshaft. It could also be a sign of an issue with the chain or a jumped chain link in the upper chain. However, the error code won't appear on its own without additional information from other sensors (G4 and G40).

Testing is a bit tricky since there are two connector pins, and they perform different functions but the most effective way to test it is by measuring resistance between the sensor and the ECU. When the sensor is fully operational, it should be reading around 1000 ohms. Look for signs of coolant, or oil in the connector bay if you have issues with this component.

2. Injectors

Yesterday, as i was accelerating off the highway paytoll at a high speed, i noticed a huge decrease in power. It was like the engine was running out of gas. Or my injectors were not firing. This morning i pull out the spark plugs, three were drenched with gazoline the fourth one was dry. I put tissue over each hole in the injector and when I turn the engine on without sparks, the three with gazoline jump out. The 4th one remains shut. I checked the ground connection of ECU pins 14,30 and 48/55. I got 0ohm. So i assume the problem is in another place.

I also tried to reset the PID but without success. The car is able to start if the G28 is unplugged and is running fine when it is connected but it still is experiencing intermittent misfires at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62), even if it is not plugged in, shows temperatures of -49c. Also i noticed that the oil pressure gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bar, whereas the actual pressure is 0.0 when i rev the engine.

I'm not sure what to do, as i think i've pretty much ruled out everything else. I'm concerned that i may have missed something. If anyone has suggestions, please chime in! TIA!
